WHY WE ARE
The correlation between housing instability, the child welfare system, violence/crime and poverty, employment instability, drug abuse, and the prison pipeline are so deeply intercalated that it is hard to answer what comes first: the chicken or the egg?
Where does one start? We are ALL affected by these issues. Most big business happens in big inner-cities, as businesses expand, young people under the age of 27 become more marginalized. This marginalization increases frustration, violence, crime, impacts the economy, overall public health, and safety of innocent people and children.
The closing of many businesses and nonprofits due to the COVID 19 epidemic has only exacerbated these issues. Do we sit on the sideline or join the fight? We decided to join the fight!! On August 16, 2020, Growing Resilient Communities was born!!!
IMPACT
Our programs served 35 homeless, adjudicated, dependent, or delinquent young people that live within the State of Pennslyvania in 2021.
